disables webgl. That's it!.
This extension disables webgl.
I created it because for some reason, my entire laptop freezes for a full 15 seconds every time a page tries to load WebGL.
Astonishingly, almost every website out there seems to try to create a webgl context nowadays, even plain news websites.
I assume its because web publishers are dumping so many ads and tracker scripts onto their sites nowadays, that one of those scripts is bound to try to load WebGL for metrics purposes.
Before you say that I can just go to chrome://flags to disable WebGL: That is what I was doing for a long time, but as of chrome 47 that option no longer exists.
Look and see for yourself.
So I guess an extension is the only way to bring the feature back.
To turn off this extension in the future, simply go to chrome://extensions and click the checkbox next to its name.
