Hide Most Visited Pages Chrome Extension

Hides the "Most Visited" page link section in the new tabs window..

------- NOTE: This appears to be broken in version 32+ , I am looking into it.

------ (...or you can just browse in Incognito Mode...) This extension removes the Most visited website links from the default new tab page in Chrome.

chromes update put these Most visited links front and center on the new tab page, and there is no quick way to turn it off (reverting to the old new tab page is possible).

This extension works in chrome 29, it checks to see if a new tab loaded is the New Tab page, and if it is, it hides the Most visited section.

Note that the Most Visited section is still on the page, it is just not displaying.

If chrome updates how it displays the New Tab page, this extension might break, so be sure to verify that this extension is working after every chrome update, or before going into any situation where you depend on the Most Visited section not showing.

(In short.. this will break- and it might not get fixed, but it works for now - if its broken and I cant fix it, Ill remove it from the store) also note that since this runs after the page loads, you might see a flash of the Most Visited buttons before they are hidden If you dont want to do this with extensions, you can also revert to the old "New Tab" behavior by disabling chrome://flags/#enable-instant-extended-api (see: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/uMiyGpUXoIw) Code is simple, and can be found at: https://github.com/obviousdeception/ChromeNewTabFixer -------- Why Does It Need The Permissions It Requests (Id like to see all developers do this, so Im going to try on all my stuff- justify each and every permission I request for the app) Needs the "Access your data on *.google.com" permission to make mods to the new tabs page (it ends up being a web page hosted on google.com, even if the url isnt displayed) Needs the "Access your tabs and browsing activity" permission to know when a new tab is opened, or you go back from a page to the New Tab page
