F.B. Purity - Cleans Up Facebook Mozilla Addon

Cleans the application spam and other annoying stuff off facebook, and lets you customize which elements on Facebook pages you choose to see.

Please note the version on this site is currently out of date, a new version is available that has lots of new features and many bugs are fixed. In order to upload it here, I need to re-code a lot of things to comply with Mozilla's bureaucratic policies. This is going to take a lot of time, as i have lots of other issues to deal with as well, please be patient.

Fluff Busting Purity aka F.B. Purity adds a small information bar at the top of your facebook homepage / news feed. It tells you how many application messages its hidden and also how many other 'extra' message types (which you can specify in the options screen) its hidden. The options screen is accessible by clicking the F.B. purity link in the previously mentioned information bar.

Heres a list of the different message types you can hide:

Sponsored Posts, Suggested Posts, Suggested Pages, Facebook Questions, Became friends with, Liked page (became a fan), Joined a group, Upcoming Events, Attending an event, Attended an event, Created an event, Changed location (Facebook Places), Updated profile, Hide All Photos, Hide All Videos, hide youtube videos, changed profile picture, updated cover photo, Changed relationship, Commented on Status, likes status, Uploaded photo, Tagged in, likes or commented on photo, Tagged in, Likes / Commented/ Tagged in album, Uploaded video, Tagged in video, Posted a link, Commented on link, likes link, Posted a note, Tagged in note, Commented / wrote on wall, Read an article, Trending Articles, Trending Videos, Games your friends are playing, Games you may like

F.B. Purity now provides 'deleted friend alerts' when any of your friends remove you from their friends list (unfriend-ed you) as it now has a friend tracker built in. You can turn this feature off if you don't like it.

If you don't like Facebook's new bubble chat style chat interface and want to get rid of / remove it, F.B. Purity has a built in option for restoring the old style chat interface.

You can also hide any or all of the panels on the right of your facebook homepage, such as: The
Events Box, Sponsored Box (Ads), Suggestions Box (People You May Know/Find More Friends/etc), Requests Box, get connected box, Poke Box, The News Ticker, Trending Topics Box

You can also easily hide the links in the left hand column, such as 'Pages Feed' , 'Games Feed','App Center','Like Pages', 'Adverts Manager', 'Music', 'Places Editor', 'Pokes' etc, via the 'Hide links in Left Column' section of the F.B. purity options screen.
And also the links in the right hand column, including: 'Game / App Requests', 'Recommended Pages', 'Suggested Groups', 'Pokes', 'Events', 'Friend Requests', 'Birthdays'

another option fbp gives you is the ability to turn off the Facebook 'Smiley' / 'Emoticon' and 'Sticker' graphics..

FBP also gives you the option to whitelist application messages that you do want to see in your newsfeed, so the application spam filter wont hide them.

FBP gives you the option to force Facebook to sort your feed by 'Most Recent' and provides a chronological newsfeed sort function, which you can activate by pressing the 'R' key if you notice the newsfeed is being displayed in the incorrect time order.

another useful thing the extension does is to add an easily accessible Block Application ('BA') link to every application / game message in the feed, so you can easily block applications from your newstream and from getting your personal data.

F.B. purity gives the option to 'external link redirects' which stops links to external websites from being redirected to a facebook application, so the sites you visit wont get, intercepted and tracked by facebook.

Last but not least, it also gives you an option to increase the font size of your news stream, and also the CSS of the page itself.
