It is common for websites to have an open forum for public discussion around a base topic.

Sometimes that discussion is the direct focus of the site, like that of Reddit, or Hacker News.

In other cases, its more of an opportunity to evaluate, judge, and critique a presented topic, as might you may wish to do for a blog.

These comment based dialogues are a relic of an early age of the Internet where real time communication was not possible.

talk is an experiment to modernize web discussions.

Rather than commenting and waiting for a response (with page loads in between), talk makes each web page a chat room for real time debate between everyone viewing it.

faster communication allows for much more comment depth, the removal of top voted comments taking over an otherwise decent comment section, and potentially a wider breadth of topic discussion.

talk is entirely anonymous for now, keeps absolutely no logs, and only keeps a chatroom open for as long as at least one person in it.

Say what you want, without fear of down-votes for comments against the status quo, and without fear of an opinion being permanently tied to you.

Of course, we still encourage intelligent, researched debate.

We realize with real time communication, there is the urge to respond immediately, but without backing evidence, a quick response doesnt add any value to a conversation.
