If you do want to spend a little bit of your time with those cute puppies/cats you can use newtabkr as a image gallery. Click on image and enjoy. Use your left/right keyboard arrows to get previous/next image.

By default newtabkr loads 30 new images every time you open a new tab. You can change this number on the option page.
